Now that the test are coming to an end all my time can be directed at my project... As for now Iam doing up the logical play through of the site then its on to the final design idea's and functionality of it all then hopefully come the new year It will be all filming and editing.

Next up

ok for the coding iam looking at actionscript 3 to play with the play head on a video so if you an item to interact with it will call the next video at that point e.g selected knifed at 2.35 minutes in the next video will start at 2.35 to make the story look more fluid not jumpy.

OH MY GOD!

This aint working too well for me got too bogged down with the design and now the code doesnt make sense to me at the mo lol looks like its going to be actionscript 3, java, flex and using xml to get them all talking.

So whats going on?

Well the idea and story will give the user a chance to see things through another persons eyes as you control there actions. This will be added too by the icons at the bottom of the screen the user can select the item and from the two icons at the top will have a choice to choose if they want to do good or evil things with it.

An example would be a spoon the options would be put it away, use it, leave it these would be good where evil would be bin it, throw it at someone or brake it. I no these are crap choices but its just off the top of my head.

where the idea came from?

The idea and layout came from my second year project just that I'll take it to the next level of interactitivy.

Right Down to work

With most of the time spent on the presentations and assignments nearly every week its hard to find time to actualy do my project lol.
well i need to find a scanner to upload some pic's to this thing have most so the graphics ready to go and iam working on the feel of the web site .
just a little behind time on the filming but i really want to pin down the design now so i dont have to worry about it later. well till later good luck

The Concept

My project will place the user in control of someone’s actions using video. I want to create it using a story with multiple endings. This story will be based around the idea that the choices you make affect those around you.

I wish to do this by splitting the video into parts and adding interactive menus to allow the user to choose what happens next and to think about it before they choose. While the user is making the choice through the use of audio and animated effects I will display the conscience of the person in the story this will push forward the idea of think before you do.

I would also like to create a web based environment where users can upload and create videos with multiple endings also.

I think this is a great idea in that if can give people a chance to show how they see things and the choices they had when they were in that type of situation and with those choices what you would have done differently and what they believe would have happen if they made that other choice or it can be based on a completely fictional story. My target audience will be quite unique in that tell will be two separate groups. The first being the curious user who will be there solely to view others work and the creative and expressive who will use the application to its full.

I hope to have a fully functional multimedia site used by many users and myself that I can be proud of.

Basic Idea

My project will place the user in control of a persons conscience.
The user will be giving a chose of good and bad options with a audio of what that person might be thinking.
The story will have one starting point but based on your choses there will be a total of 9 endings
ranging from very good to very bad.
There maybe some animation to display the persons imagination or hallucination.

End of the start

First time blogging lol. This is for my final year project. 3 years down and 1 to go dear god its going to go too fast like the title says it really is the end of the start. Its the end of free loading student life and the start of actually doind some work lol :)
